June Book Wishlist ✩

Anyone who knows me will know I've always been a book worm and love indulging into different worlds and characters to distract myself from the challenges of every day life. Whether it's an actual book or a manga, I've always got something on the go. Now that I'm heavily pregnant and pretty much have the attention span of a goldfish thanks to multiple different things, I've unfortunately not managed to get through many books other than my Mindful Hynobirthing - but am hopeful that once the baby comes & I have some time to myself in between feeds and naps, that I'll get back into my cosy routine of settling down with a good old cuppa and catching up on some me time.

So here are a few of the books that are currently on my wishlist & I'm excited to get into when my head is back in the reading game!

Embarrassingly, having only been introduced to Star Wars a few years ago by my boyfriend (I know, don't judge me 😅), I've since become quite addicted and when I heard that the late Carrie Fisher released a funny memoir of what happened behind the scenes and how her life changed as well as reading how great the reviews were, I knew I had to give it a read!

I read the first book from this trilogy 'The Queen of the Tearling' last year in literally a week or two and was so gripped by the intensity of the story and how strong the main character Kelsea had to become in such a short time after finding out she was heir to the throne and being torn away from her low-key life, that it's quickly become one of my favourite books. If you're a fan of anything like Reign, then this is definitely for you! A lot of book critics are describing it as Game of Thrones meets The Hunger Games and I've even heard they're making a movie with Emma Watson as the lead so I'm looking forward to that too! 👑

In all honesty, I don't know much about this book but I've heard great things about the HBO show and have been recommended to read it by a few people so I figured I'd add it on the list so I don't forget to purchase it at some point. From what I've read up about it online, it's about three different women who are at a crossroads in their lives and how they overcome challenging situations. Having been told it's like a sinister version of Desperate Housewives, I just can't resist!

Kevin Hart's new biography is a must read for me, for sure. My boyfriend introduced me to Kevin Hart back in 2013 via Netflix and I've been a huge fan ever since. He's such a genuine, hard working and hilarious guy that I feel people can relate too as he's brutally honest about the ups and downs of his life and doesn't feel the need to make ridiculous shit up just to make people laugh like some comedians out there. The reviews are great and even if they weren't I know I'd read it anyway, just for the giggles 😜

And last but not least - the first book in Cassandra Clare's new Shadowhunters trilogy. Being a huge fan of The Mortal Instruments and having The Infernal Devices on Audible that I have yet to read, I am beyond excited to get my hands on this. The Shadowhunter world is a world that I can't get enough of and having heard great things from people on instagram, I absolutely must read this!
