Unboxing | November FairyLoot ♡ Ladies That Slay

I've been wanting to buy this subscription box for months now after following them on Instagram and watching other month unboxings, but I've been waiting for an ideal theme to commit too and it finally came in November! Ladies That Slay.

If you haven't heard of FairyLoot, it is a UK based Young Adult Bookish Box that includes 4-6 hand selected goodies surrounding a monthly theme. All the items are sourced from small and big businesses around the world and are often exclusive to the box so you can't buy them anywhere else. The YA fantasy book that comes with the box is always a new release, sometimes you can even receive a book that isn't due out for a few months so you get the chance to read it before it hits the shelves, cool huh?

I've always been a bookworm but have never thought of subscribing to a box that sends books to my door every month. It's such a cool idea and from what I've seen on bookstagram and received this month personally, the items are well and truly worth the price of £26 + shipping. Without further ado, here's a run down of what was in this month's awesome Ladies That Slay box.

Exclusive Brightest Witch Candle from Flick The Wick
Inspired by the iconic Hermione Granger, this candle smells of vanilla, lily, musk, raspberry and citrus. It smells and looks amazing, very excited to burn it on a cosy evening.

Exclusive Blue's Brew from Bookish Teas
Inspired by Blue Sargent from The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. This tea not only smells delicious but looks lovely with the unique addition of edible glitter. Fruity tea with black and red currants, blackberries, apple, hisbicus and rosehip peels.

Exclusive Slay Book Sleeve designed by Aunjuli Art
I don't have a book sleeve so this is a pretty cool addition for me. With swords, books and flowers on it to represent ladies that slay, this will keep my books from getting damaged in my bag and the inside lining is waterproof which is great for those rainy days when your bag gets drenched!

Advanced Reading Copy of Furyborn by Claire LeGrand
This book doesn't come out until May 2018 and follows two fiercely independent young women, centuries apart, who hold the power to save their world, or doom it. SO excited to give this a read!

Exclusive Fire Is Catching Badge by Literary Emporium
Katniss Everdeen was hardly going to be missed in this epic box so they included this cool badge with one of her most memorable quotes from Mockingjay that you can iron onto your bag or jackets to show off your inner fire!

Exclusive Fight Darkness Sticker designed by Reverie & Ink
This quote is from An Ember In The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir which I haven't actually read yet but it's still cute and I'm gonna stick this on my laptop.

The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli with a letter from the author, a signed bookplate and a badge
The book of the month is an epic adventure about courage, loyalty, star-crossed love set in a kingdom that trembles on the edge of war. I'm really intrigued by this book since I've not read a YA including dragons before, let alone a female dragon slayer so this should be interesting :)

Bonus: This Mortal Coil Enamel Pin
"There's no gene for run like hell."

All in all, I'm very impressed with my first box from FairyLoot and am now even more pumped for the December theme Oh So Regal & the January theme Talk Faerie To Me!

Are you subscribed to FairyLoot? What have been your favourite themes so far? What other bookish boxes do you like?

The Disney Tag

I don't think I know anyone that doesn't like Disney. If you haven't grown up with it like me, you'll definitely know of it by now thanks to the amount of popular movies coming out these days, both animated and live action. Disney will always be dear to me as it has taught me a lot of lessons growing up and has given me a light to look towards when things were dark. So of course I couldn't resist this Disney tag that I found whilst browsing online! Let's give it a go :)

Favourite disney film?
This is far too hard a question, I have so many favourites! Animated faves would be Alice in Wonderland, Lilo and Stitch, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, 101 Dalmatians and Mulan. Live action faves are The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast.

Favourite disney character?
Stitch! He's so adorable and comes such a long way from a destructive little alien to finding his Ohana. His loyalty to Lilo is admirable and the fact he cooks and plays and reads melts my heart. ♡

Favourite disney princess?
I would say Alice but she's technically not considered a Princess so definitely Ariel from The Little Mermaid. She's curious, adventurous and brave. And who doesn't wish they could talk to animals? ;)

Favourite disney side-kick?
Mushu from Mulan will always top this for me! Hands down. He is pure Disney gold. But I also love Sven from Frozen, Pascal from Tangled and Pua from Moana.
Favourite disney song?
I'm shamelessly addicted to the Moana soundtrack at the moment, but I also really love the Tangled soundtrack and the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack, ugh I can't narrow it down to just one song, sorry! :P
Which disney character would be your best friend?
Marie from the Aristocats. She is a sassy af, hopeless romantic that isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in; even if sometimes she's a bit rude about it, haha.
Have you ever been to Disneyland?
I haven't :( I've always wanted to go but never had the chance too, although now I have my own little family, I'm excited to plan our first trip when my son is a bit older. It'll be a treat for us both.
Who would be your disney pet?
I will forever be obsessed with dalmatians so I'd love to have one again! Or two. Or five. Pegasus from Hercules would be awesome too.

Favourite disney couple?
I have more than one, are you ready? :P
Pongo & Perdita from 101 Dalmatians. Lady & Tramp. Wall-E & Eve. Rapunzel & Flynn Rider from Tangled. Kovu & Kiara from The Lion King 2 and of course, Mickey & Minnie Mouse.

Who is your disney alter-ego?
Okay so I did a quiz for this ( and got Oliver from Oliver & Company which is ironic seeing as I'm allergic to cats!

Favourite disney villian?
Maleficent is bae! But I also really like Hades, he's so hilarious and bi-polar, I can't handle his attitude XD

Favourite disney prince?
Beast from Beauty and the Beast. Look at him. Don't you just wanna hug him?

Do you collect anything disney?
I don't collect certain things in particular, but I have a pretty extensive collection of disney belongings from movies to teddies to books to clothes. Now that I have a baby, I have even more reason to collect disney things so yay for me ;)

What disney film would you star in if you could?
Ooh I'd have to say Pirates of the Caribbean. It would be so much fun to go sailing across the seas with Captain Jack Sparrow!

How old were you when you watched your first disney film?
If I'm honest, I don't remember, I have a terrible memory when it comes to my childhood for personal reasons I won't get into. But I know I've always loved it ever since I was young, having been obsessed with 101 Dalmatians so much that I begged my mum to get us a real dalmatian!

What do you love about disney?
Everything. We all need fantasy to survive reality sometimes and that's exactly what Disney provides. There's a movie for everyone, no matter what age you are, and they all come with some valuable life lessons which most kids won't realise until they're much older but still. Plus whenever I'm ill or hungover, Disney cheers me up. The music is super addictive too :)

I'm too lazy to tag individual people for this so if you're reading, I hereby tag you :D Let me know your anwers!

Real Techniques Powder Bleu Influenster VoxBox Review

My first VoxBox! ♡
Last week I was one of the lucky people selected via Influenster to test and review the Powder Bleu Brush Collection from Real Techniques and it has changed my make up game massively. If you don't know what Influenster is, it's an app for shoppers to test products for companies and write honest reviews in order to have a chance at receiving a free VoxBox of complimentary products from different brands to try out. You can browse through the website to be in the know of the hottest products from beauty, to homeware to pet products. It literally has everything. If you're a blogger or a youtuber, I would highly recommend signing up as the opportunities are endless! The more you put into the app, the more you get back :)

Now onto the review - I'm not a make up guru by any means, I'm admittedly quite the newbie and spend half my time watching Youtube tutorials when I want to try a new look but I can still appreciate a good brush! I have ridiculously sensitive skin (my boyfriend can't even kiss me when he's got stubble, it brings me up in a rash it's that bad) so having brushes that don't irritate my skin are a big factor for me when I buy them. I know that Real Techniques are a hugely popular brand, but I personally didn't own any of their products other than their beauty blender sponge until I recieved this box so I didn't know what to expect. Thankfully I was pleasantly surprised and they are definitely going to be added to my November favourites.

So I received four of the brushes from their collection:
Soft Powder Brush B01
Soft Complexion Brush B03
Soft Finishing Brush B02
Soft Shadow Brush B04

First thing I have to say about these are how beautiful they are! The shape, the way they feel in your hand and the black blue ombre look is just stunning. I've always been one for aesthetically pleasing brushes, having many brushes from Spectrum as they are gorgeous to display on my vanity, so these are a welcome addition to my collection. They look super sophisticated for a drugstore brand and are a good price so what more can you ask for?

The brushes are synthetic and were designed exclusively to use with powders so they are great at applying product without disturbing the makeup underneath. They were created with mimic blue squirrel hair but fear not, no squirrels were harmed in the making, they are completely cruelty free! Some synthetic brushes I've used in the past have been scratchy and brought me up in red marks when using but these are honestly so so soft, you don't even realise you're applying make up. The coverage is perfect and they blend everything so well; from loose setting powder, pressed powder, bronzer, highlighter, eye shadow - you name it, they will apply it beautifully on your skin.

I've said it before but you don't understand just how soft these brushes are. Ugh. I could glide them over my face all day. They are definitely the softest brushes I own and are now going to be my go to. Whether you're a talented make up artist or a newbie like me, these brushes are an absolute must have. They are exclusive to Boots with the three face brushes priced at £22 and the eyeshadow brush priced at £15. You can't really go wrong, well played Real Techniques! ❤

*I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions are my own.

Audible Reading List

Hey guys, sorry it's been almost a month since I last posted, it's been a hectic month for me and my family and I've just not felt like writing until now. My nan sadly passed away early in October so we had the whole prep for her funeral which took a painfully long time, then it was my boyfriend's birthday, Halloween, bonfire night and then my mum and aunt travelled back to Romania to bury my nan's life just kinda got in the way, yanno? But I'm back now and hoping to get back into posting at least once a week, hopefully even twice if I can find the time and energy 😆

Due to all the stress in my life at the moment, I've found myself indulging in books more than usual and reading (or listening) to as many books as I can to keep myself distracted from reality. If you have a baby, you'll understand just how hard it is to physically read a book when you're on call 24/7 to a tiny needy human - so I've been using my trusted app Audible which has been a life saver, especially during those dreaded night feeds - despite some of the awful narrators you have to endure 😅 Audio books aren't for everyone and personally I'll always prefer reading a physical book and do still buy the actual book if I enjoy it, however it is nice to be able to lay down in bed with all the lights off and just listen away. It's really helped calm me down these past few weeks and I've smashed through some great books in such a short time thanks to the ease of just having it on in the background of every day tasks.

So here are some of the titles in my library that I have read in October, am currently reading and books that are on my to be read list~

♡ Thief's Magic by Trudi Canavan
♡ Angel Of Storms by Trudi Canavan
♡ A Court Of Thorns And Roses by Sarah J Maas
A Court Of Mist And Fury by Sarah J Maas
A Court Of Wings And Ruin by Sarah J Maas

Currently Reading:
Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas
Stalking Jack The Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco
The Invasion Of The Tearling by Erika Johansen

To Be Read:
♛ Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco
♛ Cinder: The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
♛ Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
♛ The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

Do you have any recommendations? I'm always looking for new books to obsess over! Any thoughts on any of the above books? Let me know :)
