25 Things I've Learned In 25 Years

Don't mind me as I have a minor quarter life crisis over here... 😂
I feel like 25 has crept up on me out of nowhere; I barely even know where my early 20s have gone and I suddenly feel this huge weight that I can't class myself as a kid at all anymore - it's official - I'm an adult. 👀

With that being said, I'm grateful to be out of my angsty teenage years and have learnt a lot of valuable life lessons as I've grown up which I thought I would share with you all. How many can you relate to?

1. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.
2. Time is your most valuable asset, invest it wisely, you won't get it back.
3. Holding grudges only hurts yourself.
4. You can't save a friendship that doesn't want to be saved.
5. Wear whatever makes you feel beautiful.
6. Music can save you from yourself.
7. Always remove toxic people from your life.
8. Stop comparing yourself to others, love yourself.
9. Family is everything. Not everyone is lucky enough to have one.
10. Failure is good. Learn from it.
11. You can't change people.
12. There's more to life than the internet.
13. Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about; be kind, always.
14. Stop making excuses for things you want to accomplish, do them.
15. It's never too late to change your life if you're unhappy with it.
16. No-one can belittle you without your consent.
17. Your only limit is your mind.
18. Don't be afraid to give out second chances.
19. Chocolate can fix just about anything.
20. Travelling does wonders for the mind.
21. Experiences are worth more than belongings.
22. Your past doesn't have to define who you are.
23. You'll never be too old for Disney.
24. If you're going to binge, binge on books.
25. Money may make things easier, but it won't necessarily make you happier.

  1. I love reading these kind of posts! I turned 24 this year and it's just crazy how fast the years are going! Great list, I love the one about chocolate fixing just about anything - you're so right. When I'm feeling stressed there's nothing better than sitting down and munching on some chocolate. I lovee number 21 - experiences are worth more than belongings. Sometimes I'll go to say no to going somewhere for the day or weekend because I always think that I should be saving money but when I think about it I'd rather spend my money on experiences anyway - we've just gotta live our lives and do whatever makes us happy :) Thank you for sharing!

  3. Girl, if you think your 20s went by fast, just wait; I just turned 50 last year and I am aghast! Not only am I asking where did the time go, but it took me this long to realize that I am responsible for my own life; no one is EVER coming to save me! I am FINALLY going for the goals I held in my heart at 18. So, the fact that you seem to already understand this is your blessing. Thanks for sharing.

    1. If I age as well as you at 50 then I will die a happy girl! :P It's taken me a long time to understand, trust me, and I'm on my way to reaching my goals, one step at a time :) Thanks for reading x

  4. I love this! What a great reflection and I agree- books are always a good idea and there's something timeless (and age-less) about the magic of Disney!

  6. I'm almost twice as old as you and have to say that you learnt quite a few things much quicker than me. I totally agree with no 15 (quit my job at 44 to become an entrepreneur and digital nomad) and no 19 (had a huge piece of chocolate cake yesterday when I felt frustrated and can assure you that I felt MUCH better afterwards). I disagree with no 23, I was never a disney fan and will never be ;-).

    1. Hahah! Just because I've learnt these things earlier on, doesn't necessarily mean I'm good at following them all the time :')
Chocolate cake is the best, how can you not feel better?!
Whaaaaaaat? Not a fan of Disney? Pssshhhh. :P
